Meditation

Guided attention, a look at the breath, and pauses you can follow without an earlier sitting practice.

Meditation at Still Harbor is spoken guidance. You are invited to notice the breath, to sit in a way you can stay with, and to let the rest of the hour wait outside the room. It is not a performance of stillness.

A chair is as welcome as a cushion. If sitting on the floor is uncomfortable, say so. The point of the note is to learn what the session contains before you join one.

What a session tends to include

A few minutes to arrive, a simple object of attention such as the breath, and a clear ending so you know when the guidance stops. There is no requirement to keep your eyes closed the entire time.

Headphones can help if the room is noisy. They are not mandatory. Ask if you want a sense of the length before you set time aside.
